In the era of coronavirus, a safe in-person gathering of any sort feels pretty special — but an in-person film premiere is a downright miracle.

Ahead of the Curve co-directors Jen Rainin and Rivkah Beth Medow worked their magic and manifested a socially distanced, masked, and supremely joyful Frameline44 premiere at a Bay Area drive-in theater. We had a sold-out, rainbow-filled Pride Showcase celebration of a film that chronicles the story of Curve Magazine founder Franco Stevens and her tireless work to promote lesbian visibility. Turns out it was the biggest event in Frameline’s history!

I’m very proud to have been vérité cinematographer on this film. Check out the trailer below, and watch the Ahead of the Curve website for screening updates!
